Mary, Mary

"You will probably think I am crazy but I just had a very vivid dream where the name "Mary T" came up and I could hear rock music playing somewhere in the distance, this music was inspiring but unfortunately I can't remember it now. Any time I remember a dream I keep a notes of any details as I believe they are often trying to tell us something. I had never heard of your name prior to the dream so I did a google search to find out what this could all mean and I came across your website. When I saw you were a musician and heard the song "Time is a Healer" I knew the dream was speaking about you. Just wanted to say thanks for bringing me to your music it really spoke to me even if you weren't consciously aware of doing so."

People gravitate to Mary's music because it is real, from the soul and center of an artist who has never played by anybody else's rules .

Mary-T has been playing guitar, singing, writing songs and living the experiences for those songs from her soul. From faraway places to her own backyard (which is currently a horse pasture) she's always on the lookout for her next inspiration .

She started off playing a used $35 dollar Harmony Archtop guitar her Dad bought for her. She soon progressed to a Strat copy and was jamming with neighborhood boys on a stage her Dad built in the garage. No wonder she feels so at home when she's on stage.

While honing her guitar skills she started singing and writing her own songs. Both her singing and her songwriting blossomed as she racked up more and more experience. Mary incorporates both lead and rhythm in her guitar playing for a full, rich sound. Fronting a blues rock trio playing 5 nights a week was a great learning experience. Mary also plays acoustic guitar, slide guitar, bass, keys, harp, lap steel and likes to noodle on the drums. These skills provide a rich pallete for creating her orignal music.

Mary played in a number of bands in Southern California and Oregon, and has shared the bill with Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Nina Hagen, Fishbone, Mojo Nixon, The Beat Farmers, Robert Gordon, and many others.

Seeking greener pastures (literally) Mary re-located to Southern Oregon which is still her home base. She released her first CD of original songs "Cut Me Loose."

After a period of creative reflection, soul searching, and lots of late nights writing, playing, jamming and recording Mary’s created some musical surprises .

She’s currently putting the finishing touches on her new album and it will be available here and at all the usual outlets. Mary's muse has been quite active and the music’s coming out a lot different this time around. Check back and have a listen.
